Nutrients
Micronutrients are required in much smaller quantities than the macronutrients, but are essential for the growth of a strong and healthy lawn. Micronutrients help in the production of chlorophyll, activate enzymes that help break down nutrients so they can be used by the plants, and assist in the absorption of macronutrients.
Boron supports new growth, pollination and fertilisation.
Chlorine aids photosynthesis and root growth.
Copper activates enzymes.
Iron is essential for the formation of chlorophyll.
Manganese assists in chlorophyll formation and enzyme activation.
Molybdenum is needed for the utilization of nitrogen.
Nickel is required for the cycling of nitrogen.
Zinc is important in root and plant growth.
Micronutrients are typically found in adequate levels in healthy soils. However, their absence can lead to significant growth and health issues, so appropriate levels need to be maintained.
